    About CAIRS
  • CAIRS provides interpreting services on a 24-hour basis, seven day a week.
  • Founded in 1990, CAIRS is the result of a cooperative effort between Deaf and hearing individuals to establish an organization that they felt would better meet their needs. 
  • CAIRS was founded on the principles of confidentiality, accessibility and Deaf involvement in an agency that would provide interpreting services to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities.
  • The Board of Directors at CAIRS is mandated to comprise of at least thirty-three percent (33%) Deaf members.
  • CAIRS’ sole focus is to provide sign language interpreting referral services, and our mission statement reflects this single purpose.
  • CAIRS encourages the professional development of Sign Language Interpreters by supporting professional interpreter organizations and contributing financially to their continuing education endeavors.
  • CAIRS maintains membership in various Deaf professional and Deaf recreational organizations.
  • As a 501C-3 organization, CAIRS makes financial contributions and donations in kind to the Deaf Community.
