About CAIRS
CAIRS is a community based organization founded in 1990 by a Deaf and hearing interpreter. We provided sign language interpreter referral services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community by utilizing high quality, dependable and professional interpreters. All CAIRS interpreters are fully licensed by the Illinois Deaf and Hard of Hearing Commission (IDHHC).

CAIRS Educational Support Mission
One of CAIRS priority missions is to explore ways and implement initiatives which provide educational value to our core partner community. Because the CAIRS website incorporates new and innovative approaches to supporting education – it is our intent that the website will become a vehicle for educational videos addressing topics of interest to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community.

In 2008, a large part of CAIRS charitable giving mission includes the funding of workshops to benefit both our core community and our interpreters. As we proceed, each CAIRS funded workshop will be video taped and made available for no-cost viewing on our new website. So, please keep a look out for our new educational videos. CAIRS believes that education is the first step to empowerment and discovering new opportunities!
